HOTEL SUITES, GIGIRI, NAIROBI

Project Description

Inspired by the slope of the site, the design for this hotel in Nairobi’s blue zone, takes the form of a stepped design that minimizes its footprint on the ground. This approach creates a low-profile structure visible from Limuru Road, with the majority of the program nestled discreetly at the back. Flexibility was a key consideration. The design splits the hotel into three separate buildings, allowing for phased construction if needed. This also creates a variety of guest experiences, catering to the branded hotel’s desire to offer diverse stay options.

Sustainability is at the forefront of the project. To give back to the environment, the building footprint will be complemented by a series of landscaped roof gardens and terraces. These rooftop sky gardens will serve as entertainment and breakout spaces for guests, offering exceptional views of the surrounding forest. Green roofs not only enhance the guest experience but also contribute to the building’s environmental performance by providing natural cooling, reducing rainwater runoff, and creating a habitat for local flora and fauna.
